Magento: SMS/text message notification for new orders
Every shop administrator likes to have an overview over the current transactions in their online shop. For a client project this meant that the client would want an instant notification as soon as a new order is placed with their store. This notification could of course be enabled by sending a copy of each order confirmation to the shop administrator, but the client wanted an even faster notification by SMS.
Unfortunately we couldn't find a reay-made solution for this requirement, so we had to write our own Magento extension. «Order Notification SMS» uses the Twilio API for sending the text messages. Twilio is a service that provides global solutions for SMS delivery. The sending is free when the SMS is sent to just one recipient. The installation of the extension is easy and doesn't require any technical know-how. This short introduction video shows the installation:
